About the role

Protect the customer by ensuring all processes are conducted in a controlled manner per internal documents and work standards.

Responsibilities

  • Select and effectively apply problem solving tools such as fishbone and 5-why analysis to identify nonconformances, root cause, and facilitate implementation of corrective actions and error-proofing.
  • Use work standards to audit and evaluate effectiveness of processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of production to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Use blueprints/engineering drawings to identify required inspection points and qualify products, including molded components, finished product, and incoming material.
  • Timely follow through with all departments to provide part acceptability criteria and samples, documented deviations, certificates of conformance, and other quality documentation as needed.
  • Disposition returned materials per the identified RMA (Returned Material Authorization) process.
  • Rework finished goods and/or molded components as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Enter information into D365, Excel, and other software-based programs to track scrap, returned part disposition, and other assigned tasks.
  • Work effectively with all departments to ensure quality concerns are addressed in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience evaluating the quality of injection molded and thermoformed products preferred.
  • High school degree or GED equivalent required; Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two (2) year college or technical school preferred.

Skills

  • Able to interpret engineering drawings for inspection criteria.
  • Proficient in the use and handling of gages and capable of working in metric and English units of measure.
  • Capable of conducting internal ISO audits of processes.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and able to generate effective reports and communications (e.g., emails, audit reports, process graphs).
  • Utilize D365 as needed to disposition RMAs, generate part inspection/containment lists, move parts to/from system locations, and perform other required tasks.
  • Ability to lift/move boxes up to 40lbs in order to contain/inspect product as needed.
