Production Procurement Operator

Position Objective

Responsible for acquiring materials and documents to fulfill requests for purchases, including preparing purchase orders and handling inquiries about orders. Following through with purchase from order placement to fulfillment and ensuring order arrives undamaged and on time. Ordering of all Emblems.

Specific Responsibilities

• Examining departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy necessary to support the buying process
• Seeing that POs are issued, shipped, and received on a timely basis
• Responding to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations
• Contacting suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
• Maintaining knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases
• Varying ad-hoc requests supporting the Center Led Procurement process

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Acute sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills and demeanor
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel; MS Access a plus
• Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures

Education

Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Business Administration

Experience

Experienced with supplier management

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $15.53 to $23.32, depending on circumstances, including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
