Production Planning Supervisor

About the role

This role leads the Production Planning team and is responsible for estimating, scheduling, purchasing, and customer inventories to ensure customer orders are produced efficiently, on time, and to specification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Production Planning team, including estimating, purchasing, scheduling, inventory management, and job creation, while ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular coaching, Quarterly Conversations, and annual performance reviews.
  • Oversee estimating and production scheduling to meet customer due dates and maximize press efficiency.
  • Oversee creation of layouts and production plans that help presses run in the most efficient way possible.
  • Purchase paper, film, inks, tooling, and other production materials.
  • Monitor and manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels while forecasting material needs to meet production goals.
  • Track supplier performance, providing timely feedback and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues promptly.
  • Cross-functional Operations: Coordinate priorities with Customer Service, Prepress, Production, and Shipping. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and control costs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent. Consistent work history. Prior experience overseeing a team as a Production & Inventory Manager, Operations Planning Manager, Supply Chain Supervisor, or similar role. Printing or packaging industry experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and decision-making abilities. Experience in production planning, purchasing, or manufacturing supervision. Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory control.
  • Abilities: ONSITE IN OMAHA, NE and requires the ability to work at our office at 132nd & L Street. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must be authorized to work in the United States, and able to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen.
