Production Planning Specialist II
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule production orders based on established priorities, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer orders and sales forecasts.
- Cook up and adjust schedules to maintain on-time delivery.
- Expedite delayed operations and modify schedules to address unforeseen conditions.
- Track and audit production orders through the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to schedules.
- Monitor daily progress of manufacturing orders and compare actual performance to planned estimates.
- Communicate with Team Leads and Department Supervisors regarding material availability, delays, and schedule changes.
- Address quality, service, and delivery issues and support corrective action efforts.
- Calculate material requirements for production orders and coordinate with inventory teams to ensure timely delivery to the production floor.
- Maintain records related to material inventory, work-in-progress, and production status.
- Initiate material requisitions and purchase orders as necessary to support production requirements.
- Verify materials delivered to production meet required specifications when necessary.
- Analyze and lead inventory obsolescence review, annual physical inventory and implementation of cycle counts.
- Analyze component usage and provide guidance on safety stock levels to support On-Time delivery and critical customer demand.
- Perform system transactions to record movement of materials between operations and into finished goods.
- Monitor manufacturing system transactions for accuracy and work with team leaders to resolve discrepancies.
- Compile and analyze data related to demand patterns, material usage, and production performance.
- Track and report key manufacturing metrics such as cycle time and support efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Perform system transactions to record movement of materials between operations and into finished goods.
- Monitor manufacturing system transactions for accuracy and work with team leaders to resolve discrepancies.
- Compile and analyze data related to demand patterns, material usage, and production performance.
- Track and report key manufacturing metrics such as cycle time and support efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in the use of ERP and Shop Floor Control systems.
- Review Engineering Change Forms (ECFs) and communicate changes and requirements to manufacturing personnel.
- Prepare work order packets including routers, completion dates, and operational instructions.
- Support training and cross-training initiatives to ensure employees meet departmental and safety standards.
- Afford assistance with additional operational tasks and projects as assigned.
Systems & Data Management

Flexibility to work various shifts or days as required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience or;
8 years related experience with no degree or;
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Maintains high level of understanding of technical products and process knowledge. Possesses an advanced understanding of MRP (material requirements planning) tools and techniques. Performs tasks requiring advanced proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook and MFGPro/QAD.
Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Target Hiring Range : USD 60,000.00 - USD 75,000.00
Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
