Production Planning & Control Coordinator I
About the role
WEG has an excellent opportunity for a Production Planning & Control Coordinator at our Duluth location. You will be primarily responsible for creating a production scheduling system for the manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and management organizations. The Production Planning & Control Coordinator creates, tracks, and reports on the current production status of released components. This position functions as a liaison between Engineering, Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving departments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Covers the flow of work and materials according to the established production schedule.
- Ensures the production schedule is clear and available to all impacted stakeholders and departments, making scheduling adjustments as needed.
- Collaborates and follows up with all affiliated departments to maintain the production schedule. Reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, and production challenges to all applicable stakeholders, including management.
- Analyzes resources to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
- Maintains quality standards, keeping track of product inventory and implementing corrective action, as needed.
- Continuously improves processes to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Manages and tracks PPC KPIs, updated on a monthly basis. Provides explanation and corrective action when required.
- Holds accountable all affiliated individuals and departments to maintain the production schedule.
- Reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, and production challenges to all applicable stakeholders, including management.
- Maintains quality standards, keeping track of product inventory and implementing corrective action, as needed.
Education
- High School or GED
Knowledge/Training
- Excel, Word and ERP system (SAP preferred).
- A solid understanding of a production environment and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods are required.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved.
Experience
- 1-3 years of related experience is preferred.
