Production Planning Analyst*
About the role
The Production Planning Analyst position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. You will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world, planning and scheduling production work centers, monitoring output to meet customer requirements, and improving operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.
- Plan and schedule production work centers.
- Monitor work center output to meet customer requirements.
- Procure materials and communicate future requirements to suppliers.
- Communicate with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, and Operations Team members.
- Work closely with the business to understand customer requirements and forecasts.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team, value stream leadership, and Supply Planners to determine priorities and resolve supply constraints.
- Manage capacity, identify, resolve, and escalate production constraints.
- Manage assigned working and non-working inventories to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets.
- Execute production planning standard work using supply chain tools, IT systems, and processes.
- Provide planning analysis to support data-driven decision making.
- Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Two (2) years of combined experience in planning, inventory control, and/or supply chain in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, business administration or engineering from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Three (3) years of experience in supply chain within a manufacturing plant (preferred).
- APICS certification, or demonstrated progress toward completion (preferred).
- Experience with Factory Planner or another MRP or ERP application (preferred).
- Knowledge of Supply Planning (SP), Demand Planning (DP), and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes (preferred).
- Experience leading and/or participating on cross-functional teams (preferred).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others and work effectively in a team environment (preferred).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel) (preferred).
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills (preferred).
Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Benefits
Pay range: $84,595 - $103,394, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
