Responsibilities
- Administering, communicating and improving practices and functions related to Production Planning
- Provide support to Production as needed
- Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMs) for new and existing vehicles
- Support production schedule changes to minimize disruption and optimize inventory utilization
- Set up engineering change orders (ECOs) in our production system to drive an efficient implementation of design changes
- Set up internal engineering change orders for supply changes or related situations
- Work with internal departments on when and how to implement engineering change orders
- Support the execution of engineering changes into production
- Troubleshoot inventory management errors to drive solutions and accurate part control
- Issue cycle count requests to confirm inventory
- Communicate with Japan office on BOM and ECO related issues
- Focus on the production plans that will utilize resources in the most optimal way and maintain viable production and inventory plans that best fulfill demand requirements
- Maintain awareness of company policies and procedures, quality and environmental management systems (QMS & EMS), and Kawasaki Production System (KPS)
- Monitor and analyze systems, schedules and work flow
- Research trends in related issues, analyze current processes and recommend applicable changes for improvements to relevant programs
- Create, update and prepare reports using various computer programs
- Support and communicate to all levels of the organization for internal and external customers
- Analyze various information to determine out of balance conditions, develop solutions and adjust system parameters to improve efficiencies, support cost down efforts and provide customer service
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Four to six years of scheduling and/or planning experience
- Ability to demonstrate the skills in sharing and receiving information, feedback, to encourage a trusting and developmental outcome or relationship
- Capability to assess all forms of communication, verbal and nonverbal, to determine the effectiveness of communication
- Proficiency with computers and computer applications, including: spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), word processing (e.g., Word), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), internet/intranet (e.g., browsers, search engines), special applications (e.g., Lansa Client, AS400, SAP, etc.)
