Responsibilities

  • Prepare schedules and procure materials to ensure 100% on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain constant contact with internal customers and external suppliers regarding order status, delivery dates, purchasing components using MRP, and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Work with staff across the organization to prioritize meeting customer delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate information and activities to ensure customer requirement dates are accurately reflected in schedules.
  • Analyze order requests based on material availability, routing specifications, alternative routings, and demonstrated capacity.
  • Lead daily production meetings and provide a list of priority tasks, including setups, tool repairs, tool changeovers, and operator requirements.
  • Create work orders through the MRP system based on forecasts and sales orders.
  • Schedule orders considering tooling setups, changeovers, same materials, similar secondary equipment, and alternate work centers.
  • Collaborate with the quality department and project engineers to resolve issues leading to parts with on-hold status or corrective actions.
  • Schedule samplings as requested by project engineers and sales representatives in a timely manner.
  • Attend supplier meetings related to product scheduling and delivery performance.
  • Establish planning parameters such as lot sizes, minimum order quantities, lead times, re-order points, and purchasing/vendor notes.
  • Work with the Toolroom to ensure timely processing of tooling repairs and changeovers.
  • Act as a backup to other Planner/Schedulers.
  • Participate in physical inventory functions.
  • Act as a backup to Buyer: prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, and make necessary changes to reflect actual product requirements.
  • Design, implement, and monitor cost-saving programs related to planning.
  • Ensure timely delivery through follow-up measures and expedite vendor deliveries as necessary.
  • Maintain and update all supplier portals.
  • Handle customer EDI and manual order entry.
  • Work with planners, customers, and operations to forecast production needs.
  • Determine priorities between customers when labor or raw materials have competing deadlines.
  • Complete other duties/tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School and/or technical school graduate with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Several years of Materials/Production Control experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal detailed supervision and guidance.
  • Data entry experience.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and time-constrained environment.
  • Knowledge of materials purchased, programs, and procedures related to Supply Chain work.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
