Job Summary

Production Planner II plays a key role in optimizing production processes and ensuring the efficient use of time and resources within a manufacturing or production environment. This position involves advanced planning, analysis, and coordination to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of production schedules based on demand forecasts, resource availability, and production capacity.
  • Ensuring alignment with sales forecasts and inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Maintenance of inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Coordination with various departments, including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, to optimize resource utilization.
  • Data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement using statistical methods and forecasting techniques.
  • Communication and coordination with stakeholders, including production teams, supervisors, and management.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Collaboration with operations and quality control teams to ensure production plans meet quality requirements.
  • Monitoring and resolving on-hold items as needed.
  • Leverage production planning software, ERP systems, and other tools to automate processes, streamline workflows, and facilitate data analysis.
  • Maintain master data as required by team expectations.
  • Participation in projects, problem-solving projects, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, resource utilization, and inventory management.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of Production Planning Principles, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Processes, Inventory Control Principles, and Data Analysis.
  • Skills in Organizational Communication and Collaboration, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Attention to Detail, Teamwork, Adaptability, Time Management, Decision Making, Technical Proficiency, and Customer Focus.
  • Experience: High School Diploma, 3+ years in related field, internship, or employed within the company. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Prioritization: Associates or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, or related field, APICS Certification(s) in related field (CPIM or CSCP), and ability to work in an office environment and perform plant visits.

Working Conditions

  • Office Environment
  • Plant Visit(s) – Required
  • PPE Provided by Plants
  • Monday – Friday, 6 am – 3 pm
  • 40 plus hours per week, must be present during these hours to answer inquiries from management, other departments.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.

  • OCCASIONALLY: Lifting or Carrying 1-10 LBS, Pushing or Pulling 1-40 LBS, Bending or Stopping, Reaching Above Shoulder Level, Driving Automatic Equip.
