About the role

Under limited direction, the Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining efficient production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and optimal utilization of resources. This role serves as the key link between production, procurement, and management teams to balance capacity, labor, and material availability.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and maintain production schedules based on orders, capacity, and material availability.
• Cook with shop floor and leadership to resolve issues, eliminate delays, and meet delivery targets.
• Maintain schedules to respond to changing priorities or customer demands.
• Track inventory and material requirements, supporting procurement and forecasting efforts.
• Manage production orders and communicate product or process changes promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree* or higher preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment (ammunition preferred).
• Strong understanding of capacity planning, inventory control, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Word/PowerPoint.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Location-Specific Requirements

• Must possess a valid US driver’s license.
• Requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor.
• Requires access to ITAR controlled technical data.
• Requires successful vetting for unescorted access.
• The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.
