Location: Carlsbad, CA (100% Onsite) Pay Rate: $35.00-$40.00 per hour Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Conversion) Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM The Fountain Group is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join a prominent manufacturing client in Carlsbad, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional with strong production planning experience who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can immediately contribute using SAP and MRP systems. Position Overview As a Production Planner, you will support manufacturing operations by developing production plans, balancing supply and demand, maintaining planning parameters, and analyzing production data to ensure material availability and on-time delivery. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience working within ERP/MRP systems. What We're Looking For We're seeking candidates who: Have a strong production planning background (not procurement or warehouse focused)Can quickly step into a fast-paced manufacturing environmentHave experience using SAP and MRP systemsAre highly analytical and comfortable working with production scheduling dataExcel at cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, warehouse, and supply chain teams Responsibilities Develop and maintain production plans to support customer demand and manufacturing schedulesMonitor and maintain MRP planning parameters, including safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and lot sizesAnalyze production, inventory, and supply chain data to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesGenerate reports and dashboards to support planning and operationsCollaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, warehouse, and supply chain teams to resolve material and capacity constraintsSupport root cause analysis for shortages, late orders, and planning exceptionsMaintain ERP planning master data and ensure data accuracyDrive continuous improvement through process optimization and data analysisMonitor forecasts and adjust production capacity as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (STEM or Supply Chain Management preferred)3+ years of supply chain experience with a primary focus on production planningStrong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, and data analysisExperience working in a manufacturing environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications SAP experience (S/4HANA or ECC) with PP, MM, or Supply Chain modules strongly preferredAPICS CPIM CertificationExperience with Power BI or TableauExperience with Palantir FoundrySQL experienceMBA Why Join?
