Description

The Production Planner is responsible for developing, optimizing and executing production schedules for Davlyn Group's Industrial business segment. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, raw material availability and plant capacity for Norfab and Spring City, while driving efficiency, minimizing downtime and maintaining on-time delivery performance. This position serves as a key liaison between sales, purchasing, manufacturing and logistics.

Through our Amatex, Darco Southern, Davlyn Manufacturing, and Norfab businesses, our products and engineering services are used by thousands of customers in over 50 countries to help keep heat in its place, improve safety, and increase productivity. DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for Davlyn Group Industrial (Norfab & Spring City).
  • Balance demand forecasts with plant capacity, labor and machine constraints.
  • Optimize sequencing to reduce changeovers, waste and downtime.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to ensure timely availability of yarns, chemicals and other raw materials.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in real time to address disruptions (machine downtime, labor shortages, material delays).
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Lead Sales & Inventory Operations Planning ("SIOP") and production planning meetings.
  • Maintain ERP systems accuracy for orders, inventory and work-in-progress ("WIP").
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for planned downtime and equipment constraints.
  • Ensure alignment with customer priorities and service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Juarez, Mexico location on supply and demand concerns for both finished goods and yarns produced in Juarez.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operation Management, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of production planning experience in manufacturing (textiles, preferred).
  • Deep understanding of textile manufacturing processes is a plus.

Employment Type, Classification & Expected Hours of Work

  • This is an on-site, full-time, exempt position at the Spring City facility.
  • The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Department demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work schedule.

Position Type

This role is an individual contributor, someone who provides specialized work & expertise and contributes directly to the Organization's success without managing other people.

Travel

This position may be required to occasionally travel to other Davlyn sites.

  • Frequently stands, walks, and sits, often requiring constant movement around the production floor.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Temperature-controlled office environment.
  • A fluctuation in temperature when on the production floor, especially in the summer months, as the facility is not air conditioned.
  • Many areas of the production floor have a very high noise level. Hearing protection is required in these areas.
