About the role
AGC Heat Transfer is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative Production Planner to join our team in Fairview, Oregon. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring materials, resources, and production schedules align to support operational excellence and on-time customer delivery. You'll work cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Sales to drive efficiency and keep production running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer demand, capacity constraints, and material availability.
- Utilize Macola ERP software to generate, manage, and track work orders while maintaining accurate planning and inventory data.
- Identify material shortages and coordinate work orders to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Monitor work order progress and proactively address scheduling conflicts, delays, and bottlenecks.
- Partner with Procurement, Logistics, and Manufacturing teams to align production schedules with supplier lead times and inventory availability.
- Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on priorities, shortages, and schedule performance.
- Analyze MRP data to identify production requirements and opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with Sales on delivery commitments, lead times, and customer order status.
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical and production challenges.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, waste reduction, and productivity enhancements.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of production planning, scheduling, inventory management, or related manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret demand forecasts, lead times, inventory levels, and production capacity data.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred
- Experience using Macola ERP software.
- Background in discrete manufacturing or industrial production environments.
- Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain best practices.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based work within a manufacturing environment, requiring regular interaction with production personnel and shop floor operations.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and office equipment.
- Regularly communicate verbally and in writing with employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Must be able to read and interpret schedules, reports, production data, and other business documents.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout production and warehouse areas as needed.
- Must be able to safely navigate a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance and working scheduled hours to support production and operational requirements.
