Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards.
- Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA).
- Retrieve product specifications from company ERP system.
- Program the date machine for different products produced during the day.
- Prepare the workstation at the start of the shift with bags and boxes.
- Maintain the work area clean and organized.
- Meet productivity goals by following the production schedule.
- Rotate through different lines and assist co-workers during downtime.
- Communicate with leaders and machine operators about product issues.
- Operate Auto Baggers, Ilapak, and auto baggers.
- Enter production information into TGI (Machine Log) and complete product pathways.
- Retrieve packaging materials from the warehouse and return them to storage.
- Use computer and RF gun proficiently.
- Perform work while standing, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Assist in QA program, including pH verification, metal detection, and line quality checks.
- Follow SQF requirements and maintain workstations per guidelines.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Grade School level education; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience operating or working with food manufacturing machinery equipment or similar experience.
- Experience following work task specifications, SOP’s, recipes, etc.
- Proficient communications, math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills and ability to work as a team.
- Self-motivated, able to identify and report product and packaging material errors.
- Ability to work at required speed and follow safety requirements.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with schedule.
- Comply with company attendance and punctuality policy.
- Adhere to a drug and alcohol zero tolerance policy.
- Comply with and follow all food safety and third-party certification policies (SQF, Gluten-Free and Organic, etc.).
Working Conditions And Physical Effort
- Continual walking and standing on hard surface.
- Climbing and descending steps.
- Bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to rotating and reciprocating parts.
- Driving industrial equipment such as big joe or pallet jacks.
- Exposed to cool, hot temperatures and noise.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Temperatures ranging to very warm conditions.
- Loud noises generated from equipment.
