Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards.
  • Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA).
  • Enter data into the company’s ERP system.
  • Retrieve product specifications from the ERP system.
  • Identify and understand the specifications of the box or bag in which the product will be packed.
  • Program the date machine for different products produced during the day.
  • Prepare the workstation at the start of the shift with bags and boxes that will be used during the day.
  • Maintain the work area clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Meet productivity goals by following the production schedule according to specifications.
  • Participate in line rotation throughout the day or workweek as needed.
  • Communicate with the leader and machine operators when there are deficiencies with the product.
  • Operate Auto Baggers, Ilapak, and auto baggers.
  • Complete change overs on the packaging area (vision system, counter stacker, auto bagger, bag printer, weight).
  • Enter production information into TGI (Machine Log) and complete product pathways into TGI system.
  • Retrieves packaging materials from the warehouse and returns all packaging materials to the warehouse storage at the end of the run.
  • Practices continuous rotation within the assigned workstations, packaging tortillas, boxing tortillas, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • Assists in QA program that may include pH verification, Metal Detection Program, recording PH levels and identifying any errors in specification due to pH levels, or line quality checks.
  • Follows and complies with all SQF requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Grade School level; High School Diploma/GED a plus.
  • 1-2 years’ experience operating or working with food manufacturing machinery equipment or similar experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience following work task specifications, SOP’s, recipes, etc.
  • Proficient communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in basic math skills and the proper use of a calculator.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated; able to identify errors in the product, and packaging materials.
  • Able to work at the required speed, following the established safety requirements.
  • Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform work while standing during prolonged periods.
  • Able to bend, stoop, crawl, reach, grasp and work in adverse and awkward positions.
  • Reliable, punctual and have schedule flexibility including working weekends, Holidays, and off shifts as needed.
  • Able to comply with company attendance and punctuality policy.
  • Able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Adhere to a drug and alcohol zero tolerance policy.
  • Able to comply with and follow all food safety, and third-party certification policies (SQF, Gluten-Free and Organic, etc.).

Working Conditions And Physical Effort

  • Continual walking and standing on hard surface.
  • Climbing, and descending steps.
  • Bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up-to 50 lbs.
  • Exposed to rotating and reciprocating parts.
  • Exposure to cool, hot temperatures and noise.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Temperatures ranging to very warm conditions.
  • Loud noises generated from equipment.
