Responsibilities

  • Pack finished goods (bags, caddies, cartons, boxes, etc.) into finished cases.
  • Inspect finished product, as well as primary and secondary packaging for defects (broken, doubles, count, poor seals, code dates, etc.).
  • Pack primary packages (bags, cartons, etc.) into finished Master Cases.
  • Ensure all finished product meets or exceeds quality standards.
  • Sort out product that does not meet quality and specifications.
  • Work in a manner that produces the highest quality, safest, and most cost-efficient products possible.
  • Know, understand, and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety regulations and practices, and Safety Rules.
  • Understand SSOP, Quality Control Forms, HACCP, and CCP.
  • Operate, maintain, and regulate conveyor belts carrying goods to be packaged.
  • Weigh packages and adjust quantity as needed to meet performance standards.
  • Label master cases, bags, and products that require labeling while maintaining the line to standard.
  • Maintain a variety of records and logs such as weight, time, and date packaged per customer requirements.
  • Stamp, write, or affix caddies on package materials.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory records per batch order producing.
  • Perform backup duties for related positions.
  • Understand AX, consumption, and RAF.

Requirements

  • Stand on a concrete floor for extended time periods.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
  • Bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work weekends during peak season.
  • Work mandatory overtime when needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Good observational skills to spot defective products.
  • Patience to carry out repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work quickly to meet production targets.
  • Great team working skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow strict and safe guidelines and quality procedures.
  • Willingness to work flexibly.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and experience demonstrating ability to perform the job duties.
  • Working knowledge of packaging principles and practices, and recording-keeping systems.
  • Skill in packaging a variety of materials according to an established routine.
  • Ability to package materials efficiently and maintain routine records.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and maintain routine production schedules.
  • Keep work area clean at all times.
  • Good attendance is a condition of employment.
