Production Operator - Pre-Grind (Day Shift 7:30am - 7:30pm)

About the role

This full-time position is project based, and employment is expected to end no later than December 2027, in connection with the plant's scheduled relocation.

Purpose of position

Set up, adjust and operate all pre-grind blade making machinery and peripheral equipment to obtain product of acceptable quality.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate machinery and equipment to obtain product of acceptable quality.
• As required, perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform and record Quality checks.
• As required, relieve operators.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required skills and experience

• Must have at least six (6) months of manufacturing experience.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to correctly read and interpret instruments and gages.
• Must be able to calculate basic math.
• Hands-on experience in general mechanics.
• Past experience with various hand tools and gages.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrates quality awareness and attention to details.
• Demonstrates problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred skills and experience

• Previous experience in Stamping, Perforating or Heat-Treating a plus.

Physical demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, twist, use hands and fingers, handle or feel certain objects or controls, talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands or arms, kneel or crouch.
• Employee may also be required to perform repetitive motion with hands and arms.
• The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
