Production Operator - Nights

About the role
The Production Operator I reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for operating equipment and affiliated processes (preparing raw materials & packaging, unloading, packing & labeling) in compliance with legal and company rules.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of raw material from staging to weighing.
- Operating processing equipment in line with process instructions and procedures.
- Monitors equipment, keeping processes running at desired run rates.
- Complete the initial testing and release of products to ensure no deviations to specifications.
- Check labels & packaging material, ensure correct labeling following existing rules and instructions.
- Packaging the final products in accordance with instructions and H.B. Fuller quality standards.
- Carry out all operations in compliance with expected Quality Standards, Operating procedures, and legal and company EHS rules.
- Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area.
- Carry out any other duties requested by the Production Manager/Supervisor.
Requirements
- Basic educational degree, High school diploma, or general education diploma.
- Knowledge of common software programs (MS Office).
- Ability to read and understand work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures and instructions.
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule (every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday required).
- 3 years' experience in an industrial environment with machine operating skill set.
- Background in Plastics machine operation preferred.
- Able to be cross-trained to operate all production process equipment.
Physical Environment
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Walk and climb stairs.
- Use hands to remove or lift boxes.
- Stretch and reach with arms extended.
- Stoop and bend.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work in conditions involving temperature, dust, smell, and noise typical of a chemical environment.
Pay
$20.00 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift differential.
Schedule
12-hour nights on a 2-2-3 schedule (every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday required).
