Production Operator - Night Shift
About the role
Furst-McNess Company is looking to add a full-time Production Operator at our Storm Lake, IA location. The position offers a 5-day workweek, 8-hour shifts with available overtime as needed. Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour (compensation will be determined by shift schedule, relevant experience, and the interview process). Pay Type: Hourly rate with overtime pay, paid bi-weekly. Work Setting: Onsite, production/warehouse environment. Core Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00pm – 6:30am (with available overtime as needed). Work Location: 2000 Expansion Blvd, Storm Lake, IA 50588.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing, production, and packaging equipment
- Pack product and stack bags or bulk product onto pallets
- Measure, prepare and add materials according to work instructions
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials and finished goods
- Assist with mixing or production processes as trained
- Load and unload bulk materials from trucks or other deliveries
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; complete daily and weekly housekeeping tasks and documentation
- Complete production, quality, and safety documentation accurately and on time
- Follow safety guidelines, wear required PPE, equipment lockout/tagout, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or related experience is preferred
- Experience operating industrial equipment, or willingness to learn and operate equipment safely
- Forklift certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification with company support
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math calculations
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork
- Effective teamwork, communication, and reliability skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to work in an indoor warehouse environment with temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical tasks in an industrial environment
