Responsibilities
Physical Demand
- Standing tolerance (continuously) – while performing assembly tasks, SW operation, press operations, and associated jobs.
- Reaching for objects on an occasional basis and bending forward on a frequent basis.
- Frequent torso twisting at many stations.
- Walking (frequently) – back and forth between robot welding stations.
- Vision and hearing (continuously).
- Hand/finger coordination (frequently).
Lifting Requirements
- Low lift – manually lifting/lowering a load between the floor and 36 inches (comfortable with 35 lbs).
- Horizontal lift – lift/lower of an object between 36 and 55 inches high (comfortable with 40 lbs).
- High lift – lift/lower of an object above 55 inches high (comfortable with 35 lbs).
- Palmar pinch (grip) – generating force while grasping to move, hold, or stabilize an object (comfortable with 40 lbs).
- Carry – transport of a load over a distance of 3 feet or more (comfortable with 40 lbs).
- Push/pull – moving carts or racks (comfortable with 50 lbs).
The "Maximum demand" column shows the most demanding exertions in terms of weight and frequencies. The "90%" column indicates the weight for each movement that an operator should be comfortable with to operate 90% of the stations on the factory floor.
