Responsibilities

Physical Demand

• Standing tolerance (continuously): While performing assembly tasks, SW operation, press operations, and associated jobs.
• Reaching and bending: Comfortable with reaching for objects on an occasional basis and bending forward on a frequent basis.
• Torso twisting: Many stations require frequent torso twisting.
• Walking (frequently): Back and forth between robot welding stations.
• Vision and hearing (continuously): Required for job tasks.
• Hand/finger coordination (frequently): Needed for tasks such as assembly and tool operation.

Lifting Requirements

• Low lift: Manually lifting/lowering a load between the floor and 36 inches. Comfortable with a 35# low lift.
• Horizontal lift: Lifting/lowering an object between 36 and 55 inches high. Comfortable with a 40# horizontal lift.
• High lift: Lifting/lowering an object above 55 inches high. Comfortable with a 35# high lift.
• Palmar pinch (grip): Generating force while grasping to move, hold, or stabilize an object. Comfortable with a 40# grip (e.g., hammering, scooping nuts/bolts, sweeping).
• Carry: Transporting a load over a distance of 3 ft or more. Comfortable with a 40# carry.
• Push/pull: Moving carts or racks around the floor. Comfortable with a 50# push or pull, depending on speed and load.

The Maximum demand column shows the most demanding exertions in terms of weight and frequency. The 90% column indicates the weight for each movement an operator should be comfortable with to operate 90% of the stations on the factory floor.
