Production Operator II

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, this position will follow all safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, the safety of others, and the surrounding area.

• Actively participate in the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of production facilities.
• Minimize well downtime by thoroughly understanding the cause; maintain and make regular repairs on production equipment to retain or recover lost production. Involve the appropriate Mechanic or Engineer when requiring additional assistance.
• Troubleshoot increasingly complex, non-routine issues and problem wells. Discuss improvements and implement approved solutions in a safe manner.
• Identify opportunities and communicate ideas to further optimize field production, costs, etc., to assist with process improvement.
• Ensure all new wells are ready for production, including tank batteries, corrosion protection, necessary personnel, rental equipment, etc.
• Make sure daily activities, site conditions, and regulatory requirements are followed and maintained according to Company policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of production-related experience.

Skills

• Fundamental understanding of surface and/or subsurface equipment and operations.
• Basic knowledge of downhole operations, failure analysis, and best practices.
• Ability to identify problems and failures to perform troubleshooting skills and provide solutions.
• Understand the safe operation of electrical systems, valves, and high-pressure and temperature systems on facilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to ask questions, observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
• Ability to work professionally and respectfully with landowners, operators, teams, and others.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meets Company’s insurance qualifications to operate a Company vehicle.

• Field Related: This position may be subject to:
  • Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32°F or above 100°F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Noise: sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Confined Space: work areas large enough for an individual to enter, with limited means of entry or exit, and not designed for continuous occupancy.
  • Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc.
• Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Minimally lift, push, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.
• Frequent traversing through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc.

Schedule

• Regular business hours.
• Alternative shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (7&7).

Travel

Frequent travel to Company’s field operations and/or offices. Approximately 95% of time in the field.
