Production Operator - Gurdon Lumber

About the role

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Production Worker at its Gurdon Lumber facility in Gurdon, Arkansas. The facility manufactures Southern Yellow Pine Lumber used in both residential and commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop skillsets required to run dimensional lumber equipment
• Remove lumber from conveyors and stack onto carts
• Absorb and execute written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks
• Operate and assist in the maintenance of production equipment, including forklifts
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
• Work cooperatively and productively with supervisors, co-workers, and other associates
• Cross train on various machines to increase operational knowledge
• Work any hours, to include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Requirements

• 6 months of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment
• Experience using a smartphone, computer, or tablet

Qualifications

• Two (2) years or more of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment
• Experience driving and operating a forklift
• Experience working in wood products (plywood, lumber, or timber industry)

Skills

• Ability to work any hours, to include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Pay

$20.00 per hour, with a $1.50 shift differential for night shift

Schedule

Shift work is required, with flexibility to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
