About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-minded Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely operating extrusion lines and related equipment, optimizing productivity, and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion equipment (extruders, saws, blenders, etc.) in line with SOPs and safety standards.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to resolve processing issues.
  • Record and maintain accurate production records, run sheets, and quality checks.
  • Operate blending and inspection equipment, including Unidyne, Megablender, Maguire Blenders, and Ultrasonic scope.
  • Manage annealing requirements—load, unload, and anneal products according to SOPs.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tooling and perform minor maintenance as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement, quality, and safety initiatives.
  • Assist with equipment setups, rod and plate size/material changes, and scrap disposition.
  • Train apprentice extrusion operators and assist maintenance/engineering teams as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S standards.
  • Safely operate Powered Motor Vehicles (PMVs).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility (extrusion experience preferred).
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, Work Instructions, Job Safety Analysis, and safety data sheets.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable using measuring equipment (tape measure, micrometers, UT, surface roughness tools).
  • Computer literacy and good communication skills.
  • Physically able to perform job requirements safely.
  • Stable work history preferred.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $21.53, plus a $1.50 shift differential. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
