About the role
We are seeking a safety-focused, detail-oriented Ram Extrusion Line Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate and monitor the ram extrusion process to produce finished and semi-finished products that meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the Ram Extrusion Line, including equipment startup, shutdown, and production changeovers.
- Maintain continuous production by loading, monitoring, refilling, and exchanging resin bins.
- Operate the AutoDrill, including setup, tooling changes, cleaning, changeovers, and quality inspections.
- Read and interpret manufacturing orders, blueprints, work instructions, and product specifications.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and other gauges.
- Verify calibration of measuring equipment and accurately complete production documentation and Data Collection Sheets (DCS).
- Process, document, and properly dispose of production scrap in accordance with company procedures.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport raw materials and finished products safely.
- Complete required transactions in the M3 ERP system.
- Perform routine housekeeping and maintain an organized work area using 5S principles.
- Identify equipment issues, communicate maintenance needs, and submit work orders as required.
- Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing, production, extrusion, or machine operation experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Experience with M3 or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, manufacturing instructions, and product specifications.
- Basic computer proficiency and strong mathematical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the work shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds (or as required by the position).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Pay
The salary for this position is $22.70.
