Production Operator

Description

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Production Worker in Sioux City, IA. This position offers a starting wage range of $21.61/hr with potential increases to $24.86/hr after 60 days, depending on assignment. Additional benefits include health insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, paid lunches and breaks, a 401(k) plan with company contributions, paid holidays and PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Safely performing tasks supporting the manufacturing of corrugated boxes
• Conducting quality checks
• Maintaining material set-up
• Maintaining machine set-up
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• Operating manufacturing equipment/powered equipment safely and following specific directions
• Maintaining a clean work environment
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations
• Pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, lifting, reaching, kneeling, and standing for up to 12 hours a day
• Pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis
• Working daily overtime, weekends, and various shifts depending on workload
• Willingness to work any available shift

Requirements

• A strong commitment to working safely
• A demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operate complex machinery
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math and computer skills
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
