Production Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will operate the production line, including machinery operation, raw-material handling, line-stoppage resolution, quality verification, and preparation of finished products for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies, programs, and procedures
• Complete health & safety pre-start checklists
• Ensure products meet established quality specifications
• Document quality checks at regular intervals
• Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with established operating procedures
• Operate counterbalance, propane-powered forklift
• Document production numbers and items contributing to downtime (using computerized systems and hand-written production reports)
• Perform general housekeeping duties
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff

Requirements

• Able to work 12-hour rotating production shifts
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry preferred
• Minimum 1 year of proven forklift operating experience preferred
• Comfortable working in a dusty environment
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Fluent in verbal and written English
• Ability to follow direction and specific instructions
• Good communication skills
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
• Comfortable standing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Must be able to walk and/or stand 90% of the shift

Pay

Starting rate is $26.64 an hour.
