Production Operator
About the role
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Production Team Member in Brunswick, GA. This is an entry-level opportunity with potential for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Support facility production goals by operating lift trucks and paper machinery equipment
- Perform quality checks and keep work areas clean
- Operate equipment to defined standards and product specifications
- Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning dryer/vent equipment and operating a forklift
- Assist with troubleshooting minor machine malfunctions, adjusting machines, and changing over equipment
- Work safely in a fast-paced, industrial environment that can be hot, cold, humid, noisy, and dusty
- Lift, walk, climb, stoop, push, and pull for at least 12 hours per day
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience using computers, tablets, or smartphones
- One year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environments
- Two or more years of technical education or higher
- Mechanical experience
- Prior forklift experience

- Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
- Teamwork to meet and exceed safety, production, and quality goals
- Ability to perform tasks involving lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing, and pulling for at least 12 hours per day
Skills

- Effective teamwork and communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and tablets
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently

Pay
$21.72/hr. This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this role is set at $21.72 per hour.
Schedule
This position works a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
