PRODUCTION OPERATOR

About the role

The Production Operator position involves rotating through various roles within the Crown Health Care Laundry plant's production process. Roles may include Soil Operations (sorting and preparing soiled linens) and Clean Operations (washing, drying, ironing, and loading linens).

Responsibilities

• Open and sort returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications.
• Operate various production equipment to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Rotate through different positions within the plant to facilitate the receiving, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and loading of linens.
• Learn and adhere to all quality standards and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED preferred.
• Excellent teamwork skills required.
• Willingness to move between all jobs via rotation when needed.

Clean Operations

• Primary purpose: Secure linen carts, stack and build carts, and remove items from the conveyor.
• Duties: Secure linen carts, remove items from the conveyor, count and stack linens, push full baskets to the next staging area, adhere to quality standards, and make quality decisions regarding items to be loaded into carts.

Schedule

Pay rates and scheduled work hours are based on area assigned. Typical learning curve for each position is no longer than 2-5 working days. Employees must meet standards within two weeks of hire and sustain them during employment.

Shipping Clerk

• Primary purpose: Fill finished carts of clean, processed linen, prepare them for shipment, and ensure they are loaded onto delivery trucks.
• Duties: Build carts, weigh and record information, maintain and track completed orders, collect finished carts, and load delivery trucks.

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn new computer applications.
• Good recordkeeping skills required.
• Good analytical skills required.
