Production Operator - 2nd Shift
Description
The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to epoxy coat and fabricate rebar in accordance with work orders and shop drawings. This role ensures product quality and supports timely delivery to customers.
Essential Job Functions
- Review fabrication schedules and work orders
- Set controls to create desired bend, cut or angle
- Activate machine with hand controls
- Inspect bars for quality; touch up end of bars with paint
- Complete paperwork; tag or label each order; daily production records
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
Additional Functions/Tasks
- Assembles cardboard shipping boxes on pallets
- Operate overhead crane, forklift, or other equipment to retrieve or remove steel
- May package and band boxes of fabricated steel
Hours
Worked 40 hours per week - 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday Mandatory Overtime as required seasonally. Fixed shift - 2nd Shift 4:30 PM – 3 AM.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to Stand and walk continuously
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 25 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to climb, bend, twist, reach, crouch frequently
- Must have eye, hand, and foot coordination to operate in a safe and productive manner
- Must have vision to be able to read 12pt font from 3 feet away

Requirements
- 6 months to one year, on the job training
- Basic Math skills and ability to read and comprehend work orders
- Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is desired
