We are currently seeking a Production Operations Manager to join our team in Manchester, TN.
Responsibilities
- Drive a culture of respect for safety and people, leading by example and ensuring all associates follow all policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
- Develop key business relationships and be a strategic part of the plant leadership team providing leadership and direction to motivate successful completion of goals and objectives through clear expectations, direction, and coaching for supervision and workforce.
- Continuously develop front-line leadership to ensure standards for safety, quality, equipment, and associate performance are maintained.
- Partner with plant leadership to enhance plant performance and metrics, lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and develop innovative practices, methods and procedures that add value for the plant.
- Identify and align operational priorities with business goals ensuring production and delivery of quality products at the lowest costs.
- Foster a culture of open and respectful communication.
- Resolve operating, scheduling and production issues as needed.
- Manage multiple subordinate salaried exempt Group Leaders and/or Superintendents who supervise 2 to 50 employees in the Operations Department in order to meet daily production requirements.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Industrial/Business Management or Engineering preferred: and a minimum of 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience leading successful operations teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience leading improvement efforts in production, quality, or profitability.
- Experience with change management/transformation initiatives.
- Experience successfully implementing Lean Management, Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement concepts, principles, and practices (including, but not limited to 5S, CI, Flow, PFEP, Pull Systems/KanBan, VSM, etc.).
- Availability to travel 10% of the time.
Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively one on one and in small groups. Easily articulates ideas and needs so people at all levels can understand both verbal and written communication.
- Highly organized and self-directed with ability to prioritize projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under demanding circumstances.
- Ability to critically analyze situations and offer solutions.
