Production/Material Planner (Teradyne, N. Reading MA)

About the role

This position has a dual-responsibility of both planner and buyer. As a New Product Material Planner, you will be responsible for material deliverables to build new product, ensuring a timely material pipeline for products that span from Prototype through Production release. As a New Product Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing early Prototype materials to support design validation.

Responsibilities

• Planning management of multi-level, large part count Bills of Materials for highly complex electro-mechanical products
• Working globally with contract manufacturers and suppliers to establish a sourcing strategy, quoting for both short-term prototype turns and long-term production costs
• Material planning, requisitioning material, and resolving critical material shortages on new product
• Collaborating with Engineering and Operations teams on product structure to assess assembly “make versus buy”
• Releasing work orders, monitoring manufacturing builds and reporting to development and management team on Production Job status
