About the role

As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures, loading and unloading materials, rotating inventory, and performing various tasks in material handling.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
  • Loads and unloads materials and product from trucks.
  • Rotates inventory and maintains accurate inventories and required inventory records.
  • Transports materials and product from storage or work sites to designated areas.
  • Maintains internal and external warehouse inventories and supplies.
  • Completes all shipping and receiving record keeping, tagging, and documentation.
  • Utilizes and coordinates warehouse racking and space to maximum efficiency.
  • Read and comprehend production worksheets.
  • Keep work area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Make productive use of down time.
  • Attend various mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
  • Able to rotate into all positions on the line.
  • Box and palletize boxes according to instructions: ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of production and plant processes.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
  • Reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
  • Basic analytical and numerical skills, and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Effective communication and efficient performance.
  • Working knowledge of Safety Methods and Procedures.
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task, works independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Professionalism and positive representation of Saputo.
  • Physical abilities to work in a manufacturing environment including noise, changing temperatures, standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment, lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted frequently.
