Production Manager (Structural Steel Fabrication)

Position Summary

The Production Manager oversees all shop production, ensuring quality and paperwork compliance. The role involves managing production processes, monitoring equipment, and coordinating with project management and shop supervisors.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversees material receiving and processing, fit/weld, blast & paint, loading, shipping, forklift, cranes, etc.
• Maintains quality standards by monitoring activities and equipment, isolating and correcting non-compliant work.
• Ensures adherence to quality control procedures and repairs non-conforming work.
• Schedules and assigns tasks to production supervisors, ensuring timely completion of projects.
• Participates in project meetings and coordinates with project management.
• Travels to various locations as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
• Manages and directs supervisory and non-supervisory employees, adhering to organizational policies and applicable laws.

Management Responsibilities

• Directs and manages supervisory and non-supervisory administrative or union employees.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work, appraises performance, rewards, disciplines, addresses complaints, and resolves issues.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Management, Engineering, or Business, or Associate’s degree with 3-5 years’ related experience.
• 1-3 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OSHA 30 hour certification within one month of hire.
• CWI and/or NACE Level 1, 2, or 3 certification preferred.
