Summary of Duties
Cooking and managing meals for the community to ensure high nutritional quality, food safety, and sanitation compliance.
Essential Job Functions
- Affirm production of meals according to production sheets and approved recipes.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing food production programs.
- Maintain sufficient levels of food, supplies, and chemicals and store them properly.
- Order food and supplies as needed.
- Monitor and record temperatures of food and equipment, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Coordinate catering requests, ensuring proper setup, production, delivery, and cleanup.
- Monitor and oversee daily cleaning assignments to maintain established standards.
- Supervise and monitor dietary staff to ensure duties are completed within established guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Dietary department.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Must complete and maintain Serv Safe Certified status.
Physical Requirements
- Move about consistently throughout the workday.
- Reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the workday.
- Push, pull, move, and/or carry up to 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
- Push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
- See and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Walk/stand 75% of the day.
