Summary of Duties

Cooking and managing meals for the community to ensure high nutritional quality, food safety, and sanitation compliance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Affirm production of meals according to production sheets and approved recipes.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing food production programs.
  • Maintain sufficient levels of food, supplies, and chemicals and store them properly.
  • Order food and supplies as needed.
  • Monitor and record temperatures of food and equipment, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Coordinate catering requests, ensuring proper setup, production, delivery, and cleanup.
  • Monitor and oversee daily cleaning assignments to maintain established standards.
  • Supervise and monitor dietary staff to ensure duties are completed within established guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in Dietary department.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must complete and maintain Serv Safe Certified status.

Physical Requirements

  • Move about consistently throughout the workday.
  • Reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Push, pull, move, and/or carry up to 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
  • Push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
  • See and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Walk/stand 75% of the day.
