Production Manager - Coatings Manufacturing

About the role
Responsible for the overall manufacturing of products according to specifications to meet site business objectives. Assists in guiding the site management team in developing and implementing policies, yearly improvement plans, and best practices aligned with corporate guidelines and business plans to achieve strategic site objectives. Acts as a change agent for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and continuous improvement culture, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to site objectives from a production perspective, incorporating site capabilities, constraints, and HSE considerations into the site plan.
- Lead an operational excellence agenda by coaching and teaching functional excellence, achieving sustainable improvements in safety, reliability, productivity, quality, and eco-efficiency.
- Implement ALPS, Centers of Excellence (CoE), and Quality processes consistent with the agreed ISC functional excellence agenda.
- Develop individual team members and build a collective team capable of achieving goals; establish and enforce minimum performance standards within Production.
- Manage human resources, stimulate talent management, and identify and select talents with growth potential.
- Participate in defining and executing investments for production-related activities and equipment.
- Collaborate with Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) to enable New Product Introductions.
- Lead and participate in Tier 2, 3, and 4 meetings; ensure day-to-day problems are solved and contained at the appropriate level.
- Inspire commitment to AkzoNobel’s purpose, vision, strategy, core principles, values, and leadership behaviors.
- Ensure job profiles are in place, set objectives for team members, review development, and provide clear, constructive feedback on performance.
- Manage relevant budgets and proactively control costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field from a four-year college or university, or 6+ years of paint manufacturing or liquid batch manufacturing experience.
- 5+ years of previous supervisory/management experience.
- Effective leadership, interpersonal skills, performance management, and people development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills.
- Effective communicator at all levels of the organization (employees, managers, customers).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.).

- Base salary range: $120,000 - $135,000.
