About the Role

The Production Manager will manage the day-to-day manufacturing operations of the Fort Worth Box on Demand facility, including safety, quality, productivity, maintenance coordination, employee engagement, and customer service performance. This role serves as a key member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for leading production teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The Production Manager will also develop, coach, and evaluate team members while supporting growth, cost management, and operational efficiency. This position is located at the Fort Worth, TX Box on Demand facility.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock

  • Provide leadership and direction to production operations to ensure safety, quality, service, and productivity goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate plant activities through effective planning and collaboration with supervisors and support functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs and environmental requirements while fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels across employees, customers, and leadership teams.
  • Manage manufacturing costs, operating efficiencies, labor utilization, and P&L performance to improve profitability.
  • Support rapid growth and changing customer demands within a highly responsive Box on Demand manufacturing environment.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, packaging, corrugated, converting, fulfillment, or related operations – Required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling systems, and KPI management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-driven manufacturing operation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
