About the role
The production manager plays a crucial role in the team, collaborating with leadership, procurement, and engineering departments to oversee production tasks. They are responsible for developing build requirements and schedules, as well as fostering a high-performing team through development and training.
Responsibilities
- Motivate, support, and guide production supervisors and planning department.
- Report and manage daily output, addressing constraints to meet targets.
- Set expectations, provide resources, audit performance, counsel employees, train, and establish policies and practices to achieve department goals.
- Develop workflow policies and procedures to enhance efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Work with ERP implementation team to facilitate smooth execution and implementation.
- Ensure operations metrics are well understood; track progress and mitigate risks.
- Identify and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) in production.
- Manage and report regular production forecasts.
- Facilitate and execute solutions to production stoppages.
- Establish and maintain AS 9100 required documentation and procedures related to manufacturing and production.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and foster a culture of safety within the team.
- Train and mentor team members, identify skill gaps, and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, drive continuous improvement, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in aerospace electronics manufacturing.
- Approve time cards for employees and manage scheduling requirements for all staff, approving time off requests as needed.
- Report regularly to manager or leadership on statuses and department developments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience in wire harness and aerospace composites manufacturing, with a strong understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-610/620 standards and AS9100 Rev D quality standards.
- Proven experience in supervisory or leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to aerospace composites manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, management, or related field.
- Microsoft Dynamics experience.
- Electro-Mechanical/Optical-Mechanical assembly experience.
- ERP Implementation experience.
- AS 9100 Implementation experience.
- Knowledge of supply chain, inventory, and procurement processes.
