Essential Job Functions
- Oversee subassembly and assembly operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand while optimizing labor and material usage.
- Cook up production planning efforts, balancing workload across workstations and departments.
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and ensure product specifications are met.
- Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor all production-level personnel.
- Conduct training programs to enhance employee skills and ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
- Sustain a lean manufacturing mindset within the production areas, implement and monitor 5S policies, maintain an active role in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, recommending solutions to streamline workflows.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through waste elimination, process optimization, and automation.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all assemblies and subassemblies meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the quality control team to resolve production defects and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, ISO standards, and company policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with supply chain, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure material availability and minimize production delays.
- Collaborate with engineering team to support new product introduction and design for manufacturability. Ensure that all deviations and change points are managed at the point of production.
- Communicate production status, challenges, and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a production supervisor role within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Perfered hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite) for production planning and inventory management.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
