Production Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the workforce to ensure production meets or exceeds specifications.
• Participate in safety training and ensure preventive actions are taken to avoid nonconformities.
• Coordinate repairs during outages to maintain a safe and effective flow of work and reduce downtime.
• Provide leadership to ensure compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
• Plan necessary resources and budget for site safety goals and administer safety initiatives.
• Interface with regulatory agencies as required.
• Ensure quality of product during the process and adjust production plans to meet customer requirements.
• Manage overtime requirements to meet sales, production, and maintenance needs.
• Participate in the weekly scheduling meetings between maintenance and production.
• Offer technical and tactical support to the Maintenance Team, Engineers, and Production Supervisors.
• Ensure the execution of the daily production plan and explain significant variances from the plan.
• Provide feedback to the maintenance team to support operational objectives.
• Provide feedback to the operation team on goals and expectations status.

  Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mining, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Manager experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience as department manager or superintendent for larger facilities.
  • Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge and background in operations supply chain business processes, continuous manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Working contemporary concepts of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
