About the role

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Production Manager to lead and scale our manufacturing operations at our Torrance, CA facility.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules across all assembly lines (cable assembly, shelf builds, I/O panel assembly); ensure customer delivery commitments are met.
  • Translate customer orders and demand forecasts into actionable production plans; allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet output targets.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts to minimize cycle time and maximize throughput.
  • Oversee new product introductions (NPI) and line setup activities, ensuring readiness for production launch including training, tooling, and work instruction availability.
  • Be available for overtime support as required to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Directly manage and develop Production Leads and a broader team of assembly technicians (total team size 10–25+ depending on production volume).
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching, and deliver formal performance evaluations.
  • Drive accountability for attendance, workmanship quality, and adherence to safety and company policies.

  • Partner with HR on hiring decisions, performance management, corrective actions, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management system requirements across all production activities.
  • Own production-level CAPA processes: lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness in partnership with the Quality team.
  • Maintain accurate and complete production records including work orders, inspection results, traceability documentation, and labor tracking.
  • Serve as the primary manufacturing point of contact for Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and senior leadership; represent production in cross-functional meetings and escalations.
  • Partner with Engineering on process deviations, design-for-manufacturability improvements, and new product readiness.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to address material shortages, supplier quality issues, and inventory alignment with production needs.
  • Report production performance metrics (output, efficiency, quality, OTD) to the Operations Manager and executive leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Maintain oversight of all production equipment, tools, and test stations; ensure proper calibration, preventive maintenance, and readiness for production use.
  • Promote and enforce a safe working environment: ensure adherence to all safety policies, proper use of PPE, ergonomic work practices, and immediate reporting and investigation of incidents or near-misses.
  • Champion safety culture across the production floor; participate in safety audits and lead corrective actions for identified hazards.
  • Support production scaling activities as the company grows, including line balancing, staffing ramp plans, and facility layout optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and customer-specific quality expectations, particularly in regulated or high-reliability environments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing production teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or equivalent quality management systems required).
  • Experience with cable assembly, electromechanical assembly, or electronics manufacturing strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable with production data analysis and reporting.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620) and quality management principles.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
