About the role

The Machine Operator II plays a crucial role in ensuring that all work activities meet the highest standards for quality and safety, adhering to food safety regulations. They are responsible for setting up machinery on production lines to maintain compliance with customer specifications, including the correct application of ingredients and materials. Additionally, they break down machinery at the end of each shift as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards and food safety requirements.
  • Setup and maintain machinery on production lines to meet customer specifications.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and make necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency.
  • Accurately record downtime of the production line.
  • Maintain machinery in a sanitary condition.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Comply with company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the assigned area.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Communicate with the Shift Supervisor and follow verbal instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members.
  • Report food/safety and quality concerns to management.
  • Record material consumption using handheld/iPad.
  • Resolve issues related to machinery operation and report the troubleshooting process to the line supervisor.
  • Provide coverage for Machine Operator I & II during breaks, time off, or absences.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 months of experience in food manufacturing or packaging.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic reading and writing skills.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Experience managing and operating multiple production lines.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this role is $18.50 per hour. This position may also be eligible for overtime pay and shift differentials.
