Production Line Operator
About the role
Indianapolis Compounds is hiring Machine Operators for full-time second and third shift openings. This role involves working in a physically demanding, industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine production activities to keep production flowing
- Report process changes and system issues
- Perform cleanouts following appropriate procedures
- Ensure materials, systems, and tooling are ready for upcoming runs
- Perform and support daily cleaning and housekeeping activities
- Cooperate with team members to maintain housekeeping and organization standards
- Perform quality testing and make corrections as needed
- Identify and communicate safety hazards
- Update systems throughout the production process

What to Expect in This Role
This position involves working in a physically demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should clearly understand the day-to-day conditions before applying. In this role, you will be on your feet for 12-hour shifts, with extended periods of walking and standing on concrete floors. Frequently climb stairs and move throughout a multi-level facility during your shift. Regularly lift and handle materials up to 50–55 pounds. Work in a hot, non-climate-controlled environment, where temperatures can exceed 90°F at times. Be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, and industrial machinery. Perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, and reaching. Perform regular cleaning and housekeeping tasks, which are critical to maintaining safety, product quality, and efficient operations. Be required to wear PPE and follow strict safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and computer skills
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to regularly lift 50–55 pounds and frequently navigate a multi-level facility, including stairs
- Ability to safely operate and learn equipment, including forklifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or similar industrial environments
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
