Production Leader

EP², a Flex company, is seeking a Production Leader to help lead manufacturing operations in Des Moines, IA. This role is an opportunity to directly influence business performance, develop talent, improve processes, and shape the future of our manufacturing operations in a growing organization backed by the strength of Flex.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture and ensure safe work practices throughout the department
• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve operational excellence
• Drive daily and weekly production goals while ensuring customer commitments are met
• Monitor workflow, staffing, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and throughput
• Promote First Pass Quality and ensure products are built to specification
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Leadership
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean manufacturing principles
• Resolve production challenges and remove barriers impacting performance
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and employee engagement
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and talent development activities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience balancing safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives
• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced production environment
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for team development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience in electrical, industrial, or custom manufacturing environments (preferred)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standardized work, flow, and continuous improvement methodologies (preferred)
• Make-to-order manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with electrical-mechanical products, assembly, or fabrication operations (preferred)
