Production Leader

EP², a Flex company, is seeking a Production Leader to help lead our manufacturing operations in Des Moines, IA. Responsibilities

• Champion a safety‑first culture and ensure safe work practices throughout the department.
• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve operational excellence.
• Drive daily and weekly production goals while ensuring customer commitments are met.
• Monitor workflow, staffing, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and throughput.
• Promote First Pass Quality and ensure products are built to specification.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Leadership.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean manufacturing principles.
• Resolve production challenges and remove barriers impacting performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and employee engagement.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and talent development activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
• Manufacturing Engineering background or “make‑to‑order” manufacturing experience is highly desired.
• Familiarity with electrical‑mechanical products, assembly, or fabrication operations.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standardized work, flow, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience balancing safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
• Ability to make decisions in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for team development.
