About the role
A member of the Production Department at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. The Production Lead is responsible for training operators, providing break and absence coverage, supporting special production runs, assisting with troubleshooting, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and productive work environment. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
- Monitor processing and packaging line performance to support safe, efficient, and quality production.
- Train line operators on safe, efficient, and quality operating procedures.
- Provide coverage for processing and packaging operators during breaks, absences, or special production runs.
- Operate and support production equipment, including cooks, fillers, downline packaging equipment, and material-handling equipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with GMP and safe food-handling policies.
- Assist production personnel with troubleshooting and issue resolution to reduce downtime and support productivity.
- Report safety, maintenance, equipment, personnel, scheduling, or productivity concerns to the Production Supervisor and submit work order requests when needed.
- Assist operators with equipment cleaning and verify that equipment is thoroughly detailed.
- Lead up to ten (10) employees.
- Generate and verify production labels using approved labeling software.
- Prepare and submit production reports documenting issues that affect production lines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read and understand English-language recipes, instructions, and documentation.
- Accurately enter information into RedZone.
Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of production equipment and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage time, organize work, and adjust priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to tolerate high-temperature and humid working conditions while performing job duties safely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong mathematical skills.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency (preferred).
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Familiarity with RedZone and Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) (preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
Pay
$23.50 - $27.00 per hour + shift differential.
Schedule
1:45pm - 12:00am, Monday - Friday + occasional Saturdays. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
