Production Lead

Position Overview

Flex-O-Glass is seeking a Production Lead to join our Production team in Chicago, IL. This role requires candidates to work 12-hour shifts, including night crew hours from 7pm to 7:15am, with alternating schedules of 3 days on and 4 days off.

Responsibilities

• Runs and oversees a group of machines
• Oversees machine functionality, troubleshoots malfunctions
• Prepares blown film through die, ties up to run through winders
• Reviews work orders for adequate raw material and packaging materials
• Supports training of new personnel with shift supervisor
• Makes all changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and emergency breakdowns on all machines
• Performs general die maintenance
• Reports all resin quality
• Familiarizes with all resins, silos, and resin handling equipment
• Performs Shift Foreman responsibilities when Foreman is absent

Requirements

• Ability to lift, bend, twist, and stretch for machine setup, troubleshooting, and changeovers
• Regular use of arms for packaging and supply pulling during changeovers
• Quality control testing to ensure product accuracy and meeting minimum specifications
• Ability to train, coach, and develop new personnel
• Effective communication skills with team and members of management
• Prior experience in manufacturing with 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred
