About the role

The Production Lead supports and assists production management by providing daily people scheduling, priorities, and training directions for production employees. This includes printing, staging, and performing ERP transactions and activities. This position is also responsible for initial troubleshooting of production issues, communicating these issues and potential improvements to management, and ensuring inventory accurately reflects production and ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production needs that address safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Stage work orders and perform ERP transactions.
  • Participate in physical inventory count and verification against ERP in production; perform inventory adjustments if necessary.
  • Perform routine checks on open work orders, correct or adjust status as appropriate.
  • Ensure work order accuracy such as issued components and correct quantities on Bill of Materials.
  • Ensure sequences on traveler forms are filled out correctly.
  • Update reports or files in Excel daily.
  • Monitor the standard of work within assigned area and ensure employees follow all applicable procedures.
  • Direct employees' workflow and monitor work assignments to achieve daily production schedules.
  • Assist with establishing priorities, problem-solving, and setting goals in production; communicate team needs and make recommendations to management.
  • Assure workflow between stations and/or departments, providing parts, supplies, and tools as needed.
  • Document jobs through manufacturing procedures.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and elevate larger problems to appropriate team members and/or cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained to perform work assignments; train and certify employees when necessary.
  • Participate in continuous improvement; evaluate systems, processes, or procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Investigate and/or implement production changes.
  • Support other departments as needed, such as Warehouse on cycle counts, Quality on root cause investigations, and Engineering on process changes.
  • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Demonstrate understanding and apply 6s Lean manufacturing in the workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of medical device manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Previous Lead experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical device manufacturing.
  • Preferred basic knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Proficient computer systems skills.
  • Must be able to read English at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and up to 75 lbs with assistance.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this position is $30. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation for applicable experience and may also be eligible for bonuses and/or incentives. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
