Production Lead- Alltrista Springfield

Alltrista Plastics LLC, a subsidiary of Jadex Inc., is a leading manufacturer of high-volume, precision injection molded parts. About the role

Accountable for maintaining a safe, quality-oriented, and efficient work environment during assigned shifts while ensuring positive, fair, and equitable treatment for all employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Manage production floor responsibilities, including standardization of manpower utilization, material efficiencies, and documented quality evaluation to maximize capabilities.
• Ensure accurate and timely input into the Mattec system for corrections or improvements to maintain a productive, proactive work environment.
• Provide ongoing training to team members to foster continued growth and improvement in all aspects of their responsibilities.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the shift and uphold professional competence, knowledge, and skills for satisfactory performance.
• Standardize daily production to exceed customer expectations.
• Provide timely, detailed shift-to-shift notes, reports, and documentation to supervisors, managers, and departments regarding problems and corrective actions taken during the shift.
• Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees by coordinating with supervisors, managers, and departments for consistency in manufacturing operations.
• Distribute and prioritize work assignments equitably among the production team and follow through to completion.
• Provide timely information for performance reviews, evaluations, and recommendations for corrective actions or promotions to supervisors.
• Maintain enforcement of and compliance with policies and procedures to ensure safe working conditions and desired results.
• Establish and maintain an appropriate 5-S program.
• Demonstrate proactive thinking in training and developing shift personnel to maximize operational efficiencies.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Process, and Tooling teams on issues beyond the shift team’s skill level to ensure accurate communication and timely repairs.
• Work with the team on Continuous Process Improvements to reduce waste, improve processes, enhance housekeeping, and achieve cost savings.
• Ensure adequate supplies are on hand for smooth operations and requisition additional supplies as needed.
• Drive documentation processes for road maps, change-over checklists, and batch records.
• Effectively communicate expectations and changes with groups, individuals, and different departments.
• Develop rosters for daily production and contingency plans for unforeseen changes.
• Use the production schedule and priority list to identify and collect proper documentation for job and tool changes.

Requirements

• Excellent computer capabilities, including MS Office.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate accurately with individuals and teams to foster cohesion.
• Ability to handle and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with a commitment to tasks and urgency awareness.
• Ability to work independently and contribute as a value-add to plant team efforts.

Pay

Starts at $21/hr.

Schedule

12-hour shift: 8:00 AM to 8:15 PM. Week 1: 3 days; Week 2: 4 days.
