Production Lead 3rd Shift

About the role
Responsible for machine operation and crew in a light industrial setting. Must manage machine team to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment. Responsible for quality, output, and meeting production goals. Additionally, fulfills the job duties of a Production Technician 1 and 2 as required.
Responsibilities
- Production (40%):
- Monitors performance of machine and personnel.
- Ensures that goals are being met and issues are communicated to Supervisor and/or Production Technician 3 Lead.
- Completes all work assignments during production.
- Checking in material, Pocket set-ups, move material offline that is no longer needed, and other assignments as necessary.
- Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines that improve quality and performance.
- Assists crew members when needed.
- Crew Leadership/Training (30%):
- Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments.
- Performs assigned duties.
- Trains and develops all crew members.
- Quality and Waste (15%):
- Monitors product quality for correctness and report when errors occur.
- Monitors print and bundle quality. Makes adjustments as necessary to correct quality issues.
- Monitors product waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles.
- Communication/Record Keeping (15%):
- Maintains accurate record keeping (e.g., safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand, and other logs or forms).
- Communicates personnel issues to the Supervisor or Production Technician 3 Lead.
- Informs other Operators/Supervisors of pertinent information and communicates to other shifts as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Basic computer experience.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates ability to line lead or crew lead for one (1) machine.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment).
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns).
- Ability to troubleshoot machine problems.
- Mathematical skills and advanced skills in production reports.
- Basic computer skills; technical skills may vary based on the equipment.
- Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of machine and manufacturing operations.
- Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language (preferred).
- Ability to work overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required.
Skills
- Lead, coach, and maintain open communication with other production team members.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may carry up to 15 lbs., push and pull up to 40 lbs., twist, stand, walk, reach, and grip/grasp throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift up to 15 lbs., and squat and kneel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne dust, paper particles, and industrial lift trucks.
- Work environments that exceed OSHA's standard on noise levels require associates to wear hearing protection.

Pay
$19.00/hour + $1.25/hour shift differential. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, total compensation may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
Schedule
8:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Primary work days are Thursday-Sunday. Schedule varies depending on workload each week.
